How to Make Your 2024 Vision Board Like a Mom Boss

Part 1 of Vision Board for Moms Series

Hey hey friend! We are at the start of a new year… have you checked your vision yet?

I don’t mean your prescription glasses - I mean the vision and direction for your LIFE, sis.

As moms on the go with meals to plan, kids to care for, volunteering projects (plus that side gig you’re trying to start), you gotta know where you’re going.

One of the best ways to keep your vision and goals top of mind is with a vision board.

Just the same way companies keep a board or plaque of their values in plain sight for their employees, a vision board is a way for you to remember WHY you’re doing what you’re doing in the midst of your busy life.

This is especially important because 99% of your goals will require you to stretch out of your comfort zone and straight #LevelUp.

ICYMI, personal growth and professional growth will not happen magically - you’ve got to put in the work (with joy!) to make it happen.

If you’re saying to yourself, “I’m not creative enough”

or “I don’t have the time to do a Pinterest-perfect vision board!”

or “I’ve seen those manifesting boards - they’re all about self and not about God!?”,

not to worry! I hear ya.

In this series of posts, I will walk you through a vision board for moms that honors the Lord and honors the desires and plans He’s placed within you.

WHY VISION MATTERS

One of the greatest gifts we have as human beings is the ability to visualize. Visualization is seeing something in our mind before it is made or finished.

It’s like seeing that cute coffee table from IKEA... You buy the table kit from the store, take it home, open the box and what do you find? A whole bunch of parts, a mini wrench, and some directions. No table - yet. The vision of the table is there; now you must go through the steps to build the table and make it a reality.

Let's be clear - visualization is only a tool. It can be used for good or for evil. We live in a world where many people use this gift for their selfish desires or plans. This is not you, sis!

Our choice is to use visualization to partner with God, not exalt ourselves.

Creating a vision board as a follower of Jesus is different. We create this vision with purpose, to bring into reality what He is calling us to be and do in this season.

We choose to take every thought captive and bring into obedience to Christ! (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Visualizing helps you activate your faith, decide to believe beyond what you currently see, and stay joyfully and focused while juggling allll the things.

A vision board is a way to keep where you’re going top of mind, just like a GPS on a road trip.

Without that map and the occasional chime to tell you where to go, your excited kids in the back seat and driving through traffic and detours could take you WAY off course.

Now more than ever it is invaluable for us as women and mothers to have a clear vision and plan for what we are called to do. Having a vision will reveal how we can support our husbands, our children, and our businesses to flourish.

We must decide to be sensitive and walk in alignment with God and His assignment. As it says in Proverbs 29:18, “If people can’t see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed.” (MSG).
